Coach, Coach yourself … Is a play on the Bible verse asking the physician to heal themselves. As we know coaching or healing oneself is more challenging than healing another, simply because we are cleaner in our intentions for the client or friend or second person, however to work on ourselves involves the need to get calm and clear and detached.

Calm in order to be able to actually treat ourselves and not get overwhelmed by the emotions arising within us.

Clear in order to see what is the truth of the pain or situation. Too many times we blame others for our pain when we set ourselves for that disappointment. We hold beliefs that we never tested or communicated and we expect the other to be aware and meet those unsaid needs.

Detached so that we can treat or coach ourselves with the same professionalism and intensity we do with another person. Have you ever seen movies where the person has been shot and they try to sew themselves up by themselves? Bloody and scary are the main reasons why we can’t really coach ourselves.

So each year I take on a coach or a coaching program so that I keep myself on the edge of the coaching work I do. I believe strongly that I need to take the same medication I prescribe to my peak performing clients.

These journaling exercises are my coaching questions to myself — to help me get calmer, clearer and leave my brain on a piece of paper so I can look at myself in the most detached and compassionate way possible.

In 2017, I choose Lifebook with Mindvalley to be my coaching program for the year. It is a powerful 12 category search into what you personally want and by answering and making your own Lifebook — yes written chapters with pictures and quotes, you can start to hold yourself accountable to the life you want to recreate -intentionally. Not be accident or by chance.

I started asking myself questions — probing deep pressing questions on the what mattered to me in 12 different categories of life. I am sharing my journal entries here and my musing and final commitments as this is what the self awareness journey looks like. Truly never ending and always a discovery. The pursuit of excellence in my life is not to be an achievement in life but to come to terms with who I really am. You and I are 100% Potential and if we don’t spend enough time grazing inward to bring outward, that gift would be lost to the world. And such a waste that would be …

So join me and journal .. your way into this Category of Emotional Well-Being.
